SoMD 2030 Workforce Development is a collaborative effort is funded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division (NAWCAD). The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) executes this workforce development initiative via its Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) with NAWCAD. The SoMD 2030 funding was awarded in October 2022 due to continued efforts focused on workforce development by the Southern Maryland Navy Alliance.
SoMD 2030 connects talented students with paid internships and apprenticeships in Southern MD. It supports the success of the TechJobsRule (TJR) high school apprentice program which is affiliated with the Apprenticeship Maryland Program (AMP), by furthering relationships with NAWCAD, TPP member companies and the AMP approved employers in St. Mary’s County. It also creates summer college internship opportunities with local industry, government & non-profits in the tri-county region leading to further education and career opportunities.
IMPORTANT DATES:
→College summer internship program: June 10- August 2, 2024
→Deadline for companies to complete profiles is Friday, November 3rd (portal opens Mon, Oct 2, 2023)
→Deadline for students to apply is Friday, December 8th (Portal opens Mon, Nov 6, 2023)
