The A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland is seeking a Research Lab Manager to spearhead the operations of the newly formed Maryland Autonomous Technologies Research and Innovation and eXploration (MATRIX) Lab at University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM). The Research Lab Manager manages and supports the administration and operations of the research labs in the new Southern Maryland Autonomous Research and Technology (SMART) Building at USMSM. Serving as the expert for the research facility and the equipment for the Clark School at the MATRIX, the position actively works with researchers and students from academia, industry and government agencies to ensure safe operation of equipment, provide additional skills instruction, and advise on research design and construction, including issues such as selection of components and applications. In addition to the MATRIX, the Lab Manager works with the education component of the SMART Building and supporting their lab manager and equipment and facilities. The position coordinates and supports academic courses and extracurricular projects that utilize the MATRIX and works with a variety of graduate and undergraduate research assistants/students.
