Community Planning Liaison Officer (CPLO) for Naval Support Activity South Potomac (location Dahlgren, VA) – Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington is seeking an experienced urban planner to fill the CPLO role at NSASP, covering Indian Head, MD and Dahlgren, VA. Seeking an individual with a bare minimum of five years’ experience in planning, land development, real estate, range operations, or related fields. Expected to represent the NSASP Installation Commanders to state and local government, neighborhood organizations and other stakeholders; negotiate solutions to land use incompatibility; identify opportunities to partner on purchase of development rights; and other such highly challenging duties geared toward preserving Navy missions (training and coaching will be provided). PDC Intern Community Planner (Annapolis or Washington) – Looking for a recent graduate with an urban planning or related degree such as architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, etc., either graduating May/June or with a year or two of work experience commensurate with this entry-level position. This is a 3-year internship for those with Bachelor’s degree, or 2-year with Masters, nearly always culminating in full time employment. No prior federal or Navy experience required.
