The Patuxent Partnership
Logo Usage and Style Guidelines
We proudly share the Patuxent name with a river and a significant Naval Air Station, so getting our name right is important. The Patuxent Partnership is often thought to be part of Patuxent River Naval Air Station. However, while we are always honored when the tenant commands invite our engagement, we are an independent nonprofit organization working to support the Navy, the Department of Defense and homeland security.
This handy guide is a tool designed for media representatives and organizations we sponsor, it will help eliminate confusion and provide easy access to our graphic symbols.
For media representatives, we hope you'll adopt the style we prefer for second-reference usages and abbreviations in headlines and other applications with severe space constraints.
Formal Name: The Patuxent Partnership
Appropriate 1st Reference: The Partnership
Preferred 2nd Reference or Abbreviation: TPP
As part of our effort to expand recognition of The Patuxent Partnership, a formal graphic identity has been established.
The primary elements of this identity include a graphic symbol or logo that is reflective of our heritage supporting Naval aviation, maritime and information technology, and a simple, dignified wordmark.
Combined, they are the signature mark for The Patuxent Partnership and can be used freely when a graphic representation is needed.
These elements are available in downloadable formats here, and we can also provide electronic versions on disk. Additional assistance in use of these graphic elements is available from our office by calling 301-866-1739 x301.
As The Patuxent Partnership pursues its mission to support the Navy and national defense, correct usage of our name and symbols is very important to us and will be appreciated. We hope that this guide will increase consistency when reporting news, our programs and initiatives, and help minimize confusion.
