SMHEC Community Forum

SMHEC Community Forum
October 13, 2017
8AM to 5PM
Building II, Center Hall

Purpose: This is a community meeting to expose the new 84K sqft USM Southern Maryland Research and Academic Building that is planned for the SMHEC to our constituents, who are largely unaware of the AMAZING capability that is on the way. The intent is to further refine the sense of the community ownership regarding local requirements that an economically diversification oriented educational/Research Center can and must fulfill. This embraces the fields of: Engineering, Business, Education, Nursing and all the other subject areas we currently address on behalf of our entire community today. To that end, we have divided the day into sessions on: 1) educational synergy, 2) emergent technology and 3) innovation. Tom Sadowski, Economic Development Director at University System of Maryland (USM), will keynote and, hopefully, weave these themes together using the notion of Public-Private Partnerships. There will be breakouts around these topics with feedback offered at the end of the event. For more details, click here.
